Bet Giorgis, Lalibela is a UNESCO World Heritage in Ethiopia. Postcard written in Lalibelia on August 10, 2011 and arrived in Penang on September 15, 2011. Thanks to Jordi of Spain.


Ethiopia - Sof Omar Caves

Sof Omar Caves, located in Bale region, Ethiopia, about 15km long, is one of the longest cave systems in Africa. Two nice black rhinocerous stamps used. Thanks to Ronald of Sweden who was visiting Ethiopia.

Ethiopia - Grand Mosque

Ethiopia is known for early Christian churches with 63% of the population are Christian. Around 34% of Ethiopians are Muslim. The postcard shows the Grand Mosque of Addis Ababa. Postcard was written on June 22, 2009 and arrived in Penang on July 17, 2009. A different bushbuck deer stamp. Thanks so much to Michael (Cliffe).

Ethiopia - Simien Mountains - UNESCO

A cool postcard of Simien Mountains of Ethiopia. Simien National Park is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A nice bushbuck deer stamp used. Thanks to Anna who is living in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.


Ethiopia - Addis Ababa

In the first week of 2009, received two cool postcards from Ethiopia from DAO of England.

Giorgis (St. George) Cathedral in Addis Ababa which is the capital of Ethiopia. The Ethiopian Christian churches are built on a hexagonal shape.

Ethiopia - my second postcard

This is my second postcard from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Like Egypt, there were ancient obelisks in Ethiopia. This modern monument is the Martyr's monument at Yekatit 12 Square, a tribute to the martyrs' of the Fascist Italian occupation.

Ethiopia - My first postcard

Ethiopia is an ancient land and country, once colonized by Italy. Today, Ethopians are famous for winning long distance running.

Received two Ethiopian cards from DAO who was working there for a few months.
