Cambodia - Battambang - Iconic Statue

Visited Battambang and mailed this postcard to myself from Battambang post office. Battambang (baht-dum-bong) means "lost the stick" and takes its name from a Khmer legend in which a royal herdsman lost the king's magic staff. Postage is 2,000 riel (50 US cents equivalent) but I used a 2,800 riel stamp. Mailed on March 13, 2017 and arrived on March 28, 2017.

Cambodia - Country Map

Nice classic map of Cambodia. I had travelled overland from Thailand via Poipet to Angkor Wat, then by boat on Lake Tonle Sap to Phnom Penh and go overland eastward to HCMC (Saigon) in Vietnam and back to PP and to the coast to Sihanokville by sea back Ka Khong in Thailand. Thanks so much again to Jo for this cool map card sent from Siem Reap, Cambodia.


Cambodia - Preah Vihear - UNESCO - My 10th postcard

Ponleu Khmer Printing House of Preah Vihear. This is a UNESCO World Heritage temple. Laotian stamp of China Tiananmen used. This is my 10th written stamped postcard sent from Cambodia. Thanks to Ilona from Cambodia.


Cambodia - Temple of Preah Vihear - UNESCO

A beautiful postcard of Temple of Preah Vihear of Cambodia. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose surrounding territory is disputed by Cambodia and Thailand. Nice colorful Cambodian stamps used including a matching UNESCO stamp of Temple Preah Vihear. Thanks so much to Victor of Singapore who was visiting Cambodia.

Another amazing postcard of Angkor Wat at sunrise. Located near Siem Reap, the Angkow Wat is built during the Khmer King Suryavaman II (1113-1150).

Cambodia - Phnom Penh

Part of the Royal Palace temples of Phnom Penh - "Wat Preah Keo Morokot". Phnom Penh is a pleasant riverine town. I enjoyed my stay there. I bought this postcard myself and later requested someone travelling to Phnom Penh to mail it from there. Hence the Malaysian air mail label used.



Cambodia - Angkor Wat - UNESCO

What a beautiful postcard of Angkor Wat. I had visited this UNESCO site and was amazed by the beautiful sunrise and sunset amongst these majestic ruins of the Khmer empire. Thanks so much to Roel for sending from Siem Reap, Cambodia.
