Ecuador - Quito - Independence Square

Plaza de la Independencia or Indpendence Square in the heart of historic Quito which is the capital of Ecuador. It is one of the first two sites in the world to be declared UNESCO World Heritage in September 18, 1978. Really colorful nice stamps. Thanks to Ruth of USA.


Ecuador - Galapagos - 3rd postcard

This is my 3rd postcard of Galapagos island and the second one to be sent using the "Left" postal tradition of Galapagos at Floreana Post Office. It was written up and left by Elsa of Greece who was there on holiday. The card was picked up by a kind soul who mailed it from Denver, USA. Thanks Elsa and the person who mailed from Denver.


Ecuador - Galapagos - 2nd postcard

Ann of Florida sent me two postcards from the Galapagos Islands and both of them reached me. The first card was mailed from Galapagos using Ecuador stamp. This second card was "left" at the post-office in Galapagos for another traveller to mail to me which is a tradition in Galapagos. The card was picked up Helen and Terry of Liverpool from Galapagos as they were travelling to Sarawak, Malaysia and sent it from there to me. Thanks Ann and thanks Helen and Terry.


Ecuador - Galapagos Islands - 1st postcard

Wow .. it took awhile but really great to get a postcard sent from the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, made famous by author of the "Origin of the Species" - Charles Darwin. A big thank you to Ann of Florida who sent me several postcards from Ecuador.

Ecuador is synonymous to the Equator. So this is a wonderful postcard showing where is the imaginary line of Equator separates the north from the south. Thanks again Ann for sending this fantastic postcard from Ecuador.
