Kiribati - Marakei

Marakei is a small atoll island in North Gilbert Islands. Nice island map stamps used including a matching stamp showing a map of Marakei island. This is a postcard from a hard-to-get country in the South Pacific. Thanks so much to Jean-Pierre of France.

Kiribati - Tarawa

Wow... a wonderful postcard from the Republic of Kiribati showing the images of Tarawa with colorful underwater stamp. Thanks so much to Jim of Norway who was visiting here. Postmarked on Oct 19, 2009 and arrived in Penang on October 31, 2009. It is a rare twin as I have received an identical postcard with the same stamp but sent by a different sender Gunnajo of Australia last Aug 5, 2008. So this make both postcards extra special.

Kiribati - My first postcard

Fantastic was the feeling when I received my first postcard from Kiribati. This island archipelago was formerly the Gilbert & Ellice islands. It was the first nation to see the first sunrise for the new 2000 millenium. Thanks so much to Gunnajo of Australia who sent this extra-long beautiful postcard when she visited Kiribati. Postmarked August 8, 2008.
