AMERICAS - Argentina - Argentinian

Argentina has a population of 40 million and is a country mainly of immigrants from Italy and Spain, Europe, Middle East and Asia. Spainish is the official language. Argentina  is famous for the Latin dance of Tango. Thanks to a sender from Patagonia, Argentina.


AMERICAS - Bahamas - Bahamian

Postcard 1
Population is 354,000 with Afro-Bahamians, originally from West Africa, account from 85% of population. There is a 80,000 community of Haitian. This postcard showing Martha Dorsett, at 108 years old (now deceased) the oldest Bahamian. Thanks again to R. Chase for mailing.

AMERICAS - Belize - Belizean

Belize has a population of about 334,000. English is the official language and ethnic groups consist of Mestizo, Kriol, Mayan and others.

Joncunu (John Canoe) dancing are performed during Christmas season to mimic white slave owners and their behavior. Thanks to Melanie for this colorful postcard from Belize.

AMERICAS - Bolivia - Bolivian

Population is 10.5  million with 55% Amerindian, 30% Mestizo, 15% White. Official languages are Spanish, Quechua, Aymara,  GuaranĂ­ and 34 other native languages.

Population of Ecuador is about 15.2 million with 71.9% Mestizo, 7.4% Montubio, 7.2% Afroecuadorian, 7.0% Amerindian, 6.1% White, 0.4% others. Spanish is the official language.
