Indonesia - Noken - Intangible Cultural Heritage

Noken is a Papuan traditional bag is carried by the head. It is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Thanks to Shinta of Indonesia. Five beautiful stamps used. Received in Penang island on October 9, 2020.

Padaung tribe in Kayah State, Myanmar with long neck brass coils. I bought this postcard in Myanmar and arranged for mailing from Myanmar.

Laos - La Vere, Attapu

Local tribes of La Vere, Attapu in the most south eastern province of Laos. Mailed this postcard from the post office of Savannakhet along Mekong River, Laos. Mailed in Savannakhet on October 16, 2018 and postcard arrived in Penang island on October 25, 2018 - that's quick delivery.

ASIA - Afghanistan - Afghans

Population of Afghans is 30 million including 2.7 million refugees still living in Pakistan and Iran. Main ethnic groups include Pashtun 42%, Tajik 27%, Hazara 9%. Uzbek 9% , Aimaq, Turkmen, Baloch, etc with 81% Sunni Muslim, 15% Shi'a Muslim. Pashto and Dari (Persian) are the official languages. At one time, even postcards were banned. Thanks to Penelope for mailing this wonderful Afghanistan postcard with beautiful Afghan stamps.


ASIA - Bahrain - Bahraini

Postcard 1
Population is 1.2 million with more than half are non-nationals. Bahraini are Arabs with Indian making the largest group of non-nationals. The late Amir of Bahrain - H.H. Sheikh Isa bin Sulman Al Khalifa with a young Queen Elizabeth II. Thanks to Polaris of Bahrain.

ASIA - Bangladesh - Bangladeshi

Bangladesh has a large population of about 150 million. 98% are ethnic Bengali with remaining Bihari and indigeneous hill tribes. Bengali is the official language. 89% of population is Muslim. Husking rice using traditional cow system. Thanks to Subarata of Bangladesh.



ASIA - Bhutan - Bhutanese

Population is about 743,000. Ethnic groups are Ngalops and Sharchops, commonly called Western Bhutanese and Eastern Bhutanese. Lhotshampa, meaning "southerners", are mostly Nepali descent.

This photocard shows the faces of Bhutan - young monks and Laya girls. Bhutan is a Himalayan Buddhist kingdom with the youngest elected democracy. Would like to thank Passang who is a local travel guide in Bhutan for sending this beautiful postcard.

Population of Cambodia is about 15 million with 86% Khmer, the rest Vietnamese, Chinese, Cham.
