Singapore - Chinatown

Singapore city is one large Chinatown. But the old Chinatown is around People's Park and Kereta Air area. There is a Chinatown MRT station and so it is easier to get there now or just take a bus from Raffles City westwards to Chinatown. Nice "Kingfisher" bird stamp. Thanks so much Jing of Singapore for adding to my collection of Chinatown postcards worldwide.

ASIA - Singapore - Singapore River Safari

Kai Kai is the male panda started 10 years stay in Singapore River Safari with his partner Jia Jia. Thanks to Loh of Singapore with the special panda cancellation and stamps on both side of postcard. A great addition to my postcard collection of pandas in zoos worldwide.

Singapore Philatelic Museum

I visited Singapore Philatelic Museum again this August 2012. Bought this postcard of the museum and got a special cancellation of the Museum.

Singapore - Chinese Temple

Majority of Singaporeans are Chinese, the remainder are Malay, Indians, Eurasians and many other nationalities. Thian Hock Keng is one of the oldest Chinese Temples. You can find mosques, Hindu temples and Churches nearby. I sent this postcard on April, 2007 when I visited Singapore.


Singapore - Boat & Clarke Quay

Boat Quay and Clarke Quay are both renovated former river port and storage buildings with a mixture of tradition and modern for wonderful evening dining, entertainment or just a pleasant walk. I sent this postcard during my visit to Singapore in December 2006.


Singapore - City Night View

Great aerial night view of Singapore skyline showing the Esplanades, affectionally called "Durian" which is art performing center with the towering skyscrappers of the Central Business District. During my visit to Singapore in May 2006, I went to the local post office to mail this card back to myself.


Singapore - Sir Stamford Raffles

Singapore (Singapura meaning Lion City in Malay) was originally called Tumasek. The Chinese name is "Xin Jia Po". The modern founder of Singapore is Sir Stamford Raffles. Thanks to Augustine for this great postcard.

Singapore Airlines has been rated as one of the best airlines in the world. I have enjoyed their flight services over the years. This is an SIA postcard on flight from Changi Airport, Singapore to Terminal 1, Beijing Capitol Airport, Beijing, China. Thanks to SM for handing this postcard to SIA cabin crew to mail to me.

I bought this reprinted vintage postcard from the Singapore Philatelic Museum which also has a mini-postc office to send the first postcard which is the famous Raffles Hotel in Singapore where the drink Singapore Sling was invented.
