Fort A Famosa was built by the Portuguese who conquered Malacca - Melaka in 1511 until the Dutch and British took over in the 17th and 19th century respectively. St Paul's Church is built on the hill overlooking the harbor of Melaka. This is a major site of the UNESCO World Heritage of Melaka - Historical Cities of Straits of Melaka.
