USA - Indiana - Cataract Falls Covered Bridge

Thanks to Van of Texas, USA for sending this postcard. As mentioned by Van, this postcard should be Indiana, not Louisiana. Interesting error by the postcard printer as this is a very famous bridge in Indiana, USA. It is now used only as a pedestrian bridge. A great addition to my postcard collection of bridges. Received on June 30, 2022.

NEWS: October 5, 2021 Tuesday - Postcard from Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia

Hello from Langkawi showing the Langkawi Sky Bridge. It is a 125m curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge in Malaysia, completed in 2005. The bridge deck is 660m above sea level at the peak of Gunung Mat Cincang. Thanks to Dzul. Postmarked September 30, 2021 at KOMPLEKS LADA (Langkawi Development Authority). Received on October 5, 2021.

Bosnia -Herzegovina - Sarajevo - Latin Bridge

Latin Bridge is a historic Ottoman bridge and the nothern end of the bridge is the site of the assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, resulting in the outbreak of World War I in Europe. Thanks to Michael of Luxembourgh for this great postcard.

I visited Salzburg in April 2015 and mailed this postcard to myself. I walked over this modern pedestrian bridge, Makartsteg named after a famous local 19th century artist Hans Makart. A great addition to my pedestrian bridge postcard collection worldwide.

Myanmar - U Bein Bridge, Mandalay

U Bein Bridge is a crossing that spans the Taungthaman Lake near Amarapura in Myanmar. The 1.2-kilometre (0.75 mi) bridge was built around 1850 and is believed to be the oldest and longest teakwood bridge in the world. Thanks to Fadli of Malaysia who visited Mandalay and saw the sunrise and sunset at U Bein Bridge, Mandalay.

A fallen tree serves as a natural bridge in one of the last unspoilt raniforest in Borneo - the Maliau Basin in Sabah, Malaysia. Thanks to Caroline of Sabah.
